The expression

\partial_{a^{α}} R (b - a) δ_{D}^{(4)} (a - z)

is not

\partial_{a^{α}} [R (b - a) δ_{D}^{(4)} (a - z)] .

The difference is an incidence derivative. This distinction is essential in the diagnostic and must be preserved in the physical calculation.

Leibniz derivatives in (eq:response), on the other hand, are part of the exact response and may not be discarded.
