The effective port has not been identified with a local Schwarzschild coupling. A possible successor begins with a specified probe field and compact bilinear interaction

The Fewster–Verch framework supplies a setting for local system–probe scattering and induced observables FewsterVerch. Asymptotic local-observable measurement constructions give additional comparison tools FewsterJubbRuep. Neither result is an identification of this manuscript's matrix capture with a local asymptotic packet-number instrument.

The successor must specify:

  1. probe state, coupling region, and switching;

  2. coupled classical evolution and quantum scattering map;

  3. a selected outgoing probe observable;

  4. its relation to the asymptotic packet algebra;

  5. unwanted modes, creation-operator mixing, probe noise, angular resolution, and finite-radius propagation;

  6. a common comparison topology and a derived error.

A passive pure-loss reduction is a theorem target, not a default property of a bilinear local coupling. A first induced smeared-field observable is a narrower target than exact packet-number detection.
