Gauge equivalence is a supplied equivalence relation on geometric descriptions. In the examples it includes chart changes and retriangulations representing the same metric and marked slice. An admissible geometric observable is constant on its equivalence classes.

A fixed spacetime does not identify all marked-slice observables at different times. Circuit retiming is not presumed to be a gauge symmetry of nonlinear coupled evolution.
