Definition: Complete residual response

The complete residual responds to the logical code if $\mathcal{C}$ is not a replacement channel. It is nonresponding if $\mathcal{C}={\mathcal{T}}_{\sigma }$ for one fixed state $\sigma$.

This concerns variation with the logical input at a fixed encoding or fixed time. Dependence of a fixed replacement state ${\sigma }_{\lambda }$ on an external coupling parameter $\lambda$ is not, by itself, logical-input response.
