Operational hypotheses
A conditional continuum package with matched realizations › Operational hypotheses · lines 1733–1744
Every reported finite experiment has a fixed finite outcome alphabet and includes its complete attempted-run law. Probabilities are compared in total variation on that common alphabet.
A modification footprint includes changed complete local rules and changed initial input sites. An initial modification confined to a region means that the two initial snapshots agree on every finite region disjoint from it. It does not mean that arbitrary correlated initial states with the same site labels are interchangeable.
