A family is compatible for the completion if its labelled skeleton and all local finite types are fixed, its vertex data converge in the position part of (eq:completionmetric), and its complete local channels are Cauchy in the channel part.
Compatibility of a replacement pair additionally retains the same unchanged coordinates, source data, and local channels outside the declared replacement slots.
