Remark: What schedule averaging cannot and can change
Fixed-stencil and periodic obstructions › Fixed word metrics · lines 906–917
A common input-independent mixture of admissible schedules retains the metric upper envelope, provided the two compared runs agree for each schedule realization and include the relevant control data.
This does not prove that the actual influence region of every averaged dynamics equals the envelope. The identity dynamics has no positive-distance influence. Randomization may suppress signals or alter typical propagation; it does not change a separately defined word-metric envelope. This is the corrected reading of STEN's schedule-averaging claim.
