Resetting one apparatus factor cannot retroactively change a completed record already delivered to an untouched register. This follows from Proposition prop:local. Resetting the very register that holds the only retained record, however, removes that retained record from the subsequent interface.
The matching distinction is recorded in Em03-B CheungEm03B. It is a statement about specified interfaces, not a thermodynamic cost theorem.
