A full-residual energy criterion and its limitations

This criterion requires energy control of the full residual, including the carrier and all uncollected modes. The present scalar bath and displaced carrier do not provide that hypothesis automatically. A gapless residual or a degenerate zero-energy sector defeats this particular argument.
