Background and the Enter discipline › What the Philosophy of Enter contributes · lines 162–186
Cheung's Philosophy of Enter supplies an interface discipline: destructive readout consumes the measured quantum name and returns a classical record; quantum recovery instead returns a quantum code from specified access. It also separates complete energy, erasure cost, and residual leakage, and refuses to identify an analogy with its physical interpretation CheungPhilosophy. We implement that discipline by specifying, for every claim:
the input code and its retained external references;
the accessible output and everything excluded from it;
whether the output is quantum, classical, or hybrid;
the channel identity or error bound actually established.
The finite readout convention below is defined, not derived from measurement-uniqueness assumptions. Cheung's journal article provides background on the Enter calculus and its operational characterization of measurement CheungEnter. Neither that citation nor a citation to Manuscript I reconstructs the full hypotheses of its characterization in the present model.
