The classical and semiclassical statements being compared have different hypotheses. Classical black-hole mechanics concerns a spacetime metric and its dynamics; an event horizon is a causal-geometric object, not an access declaration on a register. The area theorem belongs to that classical setting, with its geometric and energy assumptions. It is not a theorem about the number of accessible qubits Hawking1971,BardeenCarterHawking1973.
Hawking's particle-creation calculation concerns quantum fields on a classical collapse background. For an uncharged, nonrotating Schwarzschild black hole, its temperature, in SI units, is
For bosonic modes, the corresponding occupation formula has a thermal denominator and an absorption, or greybody, factor:
Here is angular frequency. These are external semiclassical statements Hawking1975. In particular, a heuristic picture of escaping particle pairs is not used below as a microscopic circuit construction.
The further questions of information loss, outgoing quantum recovery, and the final regime require more than an occupation formula. Hawking's information-loss proposal and Page's unitary-radiation comparison address this broader setting under their respective assumptions Hawking1976,Page1993. The phrase “final explosive burst” recalls a physical extrapolation discussed in Hawking's early work; it is not treated here as an established endpoint theorem Hawking1974,Hawking1975.
