Scheduler consistency does not determine a Lorentz metric
The causal overlay and its communication ledger › Scheduler consistency does not determine a Lorentz metric · lines 1784–1798
A finite dependency graph can terminate, admit order-independent evaluation of independent vertices, and preserve causal ancestry without determining a metric. The same graph can be equipped with arbitrarily rescaled supplied edge lengths and tick durations, with no change to its channel contractions or records.
Consequently neither a proper throat length nor a Lorentzian metric follows from the schedule alone. Additional representation hypotheses are required for a Lorentz-cone theorem CheungEn08A. No such reconstruction is attempted here.
