Definition: Record and continuation
After Enter: records, instruments, decoders, and cutoffs › D1: three distinct measurement interfaces · lines 2256–2263
A record is a classical value already produced by Enter or obtained by reading a coherent record carrier, together with a declared continuation on the surviving quantum names. Retained names remain separately owned. Equality of classical records does not identify all coherent implementations or their residual instruments.
