IX-A-ST@1#prop:Wickoutputs, IX-A-ST@1#eq:selfcoefficient
The following already-defined local contraction outputs are actual elements of :
coefficients of with a smooth compact linear metric or scalar functional, in either order;
the scalar-contracted metric quadratic functional
the single-contraction coefficient with , , in either order.
These are selected coefficient-membership statements. They do not define a quantum multiplication on .
Proof. A smooth linear metric smearing makes the contracted metric covariance smooth. Its image under the local is smooth on . The remaining output is therefore a regular scalar linear functional. A smooth scalar linear smearing gives a smooth scalar function , and the output is, up to the fixed contraction sign, .
For (eq:selfcoefficient), pair the differentiated scalar covariance against the smooth compact two-variable coefficient at each fixed . This defines a continuous quadratic functional with compact metric kernel. Varying one -factor leaves the other factor smoothly smeared against the scalar covariance. The resulting source for the varied is smooth and supported in or . Its first metric derivative is therefore a finite sum of 's. Every further directional descendant has the same property.
For (iii), define the mixed kernel on the supported observation variables. It is a defined distribution: the retarded-step composition has the same transversality used in Proposition prop:generators. The left-ordered coefficient is
At fixed smooth , smearing the -slot is precisely a metric covariance smeared with . Lemma lem:smoothing makes the result smooth in . Multiplication by gives a regular first metric derivative. Scalar differentiation replaces by a fixed smooth direction and preserves the argument. Reverse ordering changes the covariance orientation, not this smoothness conclusion.
