Definition: The path-average operation

Conditional on a fixed marked tree and endpoint $v$, the operation chooses one strict ancestor-child slot of the path uniformly and applies its channel once to the logical input. The choice is independent of that input. After ignoring the choice register, the returned channel is ${{\Lambda }_v}^{\mathrm{av}}$.
