Retarded elementary insertion

The existence here is elementary. Matrix elements of a single field between vectors in ${\mathcal{D}}_E$ are smooth functions of $x$, with all derivatives locally bounded, by the energy-moment bounds. Equivalently, the variables $(x,x-y)$ are independent: $\varphi (x)R(x-y)$ is the corresponding tensor distribution. Differentiation is therefore legitimate.
