Suppose actual and comparison accuracies satisfy

\abs Q_{i} - Q_{i}^{cmp} \leq ϵ_{i}, i = 0, 1.

Q_{0}^{cmp} - Q_{1}^{cmp} > ϵ_{0} + ϵ_{1},

then $Q_{0} > Q_{1}$ . If $Q_{1}^{cmp} + ϵ_{1} < q_{*}$ , the actual checkpoint fails the threshold.

Proof. Subtract the error inequalities or apply the upper allowance.
