On a qubit, encode the two cues as

ρ_{0}^{\pm} = \frac{I \pm X}{2} .

For each delay step apply

Λ (ρ) = η [\frac{1 + λ}{2} ρ + \frac{1 - λ}{2} Z ρZ] + (1 - η) Tr (ρ) \frac{I}{2}, 0 \leq η, λ \leq 1.

This is a linear CPTP map. Later inputs contain no further rule cue and no retained classical copy of the cue label is admitted to the readout.
