Choose a frontier after the final encoding operation and before storage.

The raw decoder-relevant frontier consists of all systems, classical registers, and persistent control states present at that frontier that have scheduled paths to the decoder's scored output . Persistent apparatus state is represented as a frontier system, not hidden in an operation name.

The storage cut is complete when all routes from the encoding inputs to cross this frontier and no undeclared system, record, or parameter later re-enters the decoder.

The experimenter's archive is excluded only because it has no path to . It remains part of the complete attempted-run record used by the scorer.
