Remark: Two metrics, two roles

The prescribed $\bar{g}$ controls the local presentation and the finite apparatus schedule. The formal metric $\gamma (\kappa )$ below is an unknown of stipulated coefficient equations. We do not identify the apparatus cone with a nonperturbatively constructed causal cone of that unknown metric.
