In finite dimensions, the inclusion $Θ^{*} (B) \subseteq A$ is dual to

Θ (A^{⊥}) \subseteq B^{⊥} .

Indeed, both say that $Tr (B Θ (H)) = Tr (Θ^{*} (B) H) = 0$ whenever $H$ annihilates $A$ . The following quotient criterion has the same formal role.
