VII-I@1#prop:notproduct
The VII-D finite part cannot be the continuous value of the old triple under (Q1)–(Q4). A counterterm supported only on the ordinary observation diagonals cannot cancel its logarithmic residue on all tests.
Proof. Assigning the finite part only at the sharp endpoint leaves the divergent regular sequence unchanged. Subtracting it along that sequence changes the already prescribed products in (Q1).
For the second assertion, every ordinary-diagonal-supported distribution pairs to zero with the pairwise-disjoint test bank of (eq:triangle-residue), while has positive pairing there.
