The construction is a minimal comparison carrier, not an identification with every stage of IX-A. Its mechanism agrees with the boundary-sensitive nonconvergence explicitly recorded there CheungIXA. It changes the convergence hypothesis used in VII-C; it does not construct the missing sharp multiplication on the IX carrier.
