For a frozen prescription, the alternatives are:

  1. equations, data, and covariance are constructed;

  2. a nonzero defect is proved on the frozen gauge algebra;

  3. a named construction or proof obligation remains unresolved.

The result below is the second alternative. It is not an unresolved choice of regulator and is not a theorem excluding every possible regulator.
