The free term is interpreted variationally with compact variations; its numerical integral need not exist on every smooth configuration. The interaction terms have compact coefficient support.

One switch multiplies each retained interaction density. In particular, the second scalar vertex carries $g$ , not $g^{2}$ . The regulator does not enter (eq:switchedaction).
