Independent fields and the fermion

The signs are fixed by the chosen action and by $s_0\bar{c}=b$, not by an assumed positive auxiliary measure. After eliminating $b$, ${s_0}^2\bar{c}=\frac{1}{2}\square c$ is only an on-shell identity. For off-shell nilpotence, the independent auxiliary field is retained.
