Ideal and implemented stages must include the same compared histories, memory, residual outputs, failure flags, and ownership boundary. Padding, pinching, encoding, and final coarse-graining are explicit maps, not invisible identifications.

If a device has correlated memory, that memory belongs to the successive stage interface or to an enlarged declared process input. It is not an independent fresh per-stage error term.
