Remark: A sign convention is not a coordinate signature change

Equation (eq:signature) does not assert that a real coordinate transformation changes the signature of a bilinear form. It specifies a sign-reversed analytical comparison metric on the developed chart. All analytical contractions below use $\eta$, or the formal metric $q$, not the host metric $G$.
