For a genuine codimension-four problem, the copied ambiguity diagnostic applies conditionally when the degree is at least four and the full characteristic conormal is allowed:

can agree with the reference off the stratum while preserving the stated degree allowance and conormal bound.

On the retained collision-free neighborhood, a nonzero such difference is not in . Hence a future prescription must not identify it as an inherited collision contact.

For a different extension stage, the relevant codimension and supported-distribution structure must be recomputed. For example, has codimension eight, while an amplitude on the three-vertex numerical space still faces codimension four. No actual degree is assigned to either unresolved distribution.

Under suitable conormal wavefront hypotheses, supported extension differences have finite normal delta-derivative expansions with smooth tangential coefficients Dang (Section 8). This is an ambiguity theorem for an existing extension problem, not a construction of the selected reference or extension.

No characteristic-supported term is added here. No normalization constant is selected, and is not enlarged.
