XIX-D@1#def:target

Back to manuscript

A declared quantum target specifies:

  1. its classical configuration or equation space, background, observable prescription, and gauge conventions;

  2. its quantum field content, graded test spaces, contraction data, and operator or functional domain;

  3. the coupling and orders retained;

  4. the products, extensions, normalization conditions, and counterterm freedom permitted at those orders;

  5. the identity, expectation, or limit that is actually requested.

An external-source response, a bulk two-point identity, a relational composite, and a complete measurement instrument are different targets unless comparison maps identify them.
