Preparation residuals and retarded response

Changing $\epsilon$, initial data, smearing, or state generally changes the preparation or experiment. It is not declared an admissible finite renormalization merely because a subtraction scale is also present. Scheme comparisons below hold at fixed preparation unless an independent equivalence is proved.
