For a restricted state class, ${{\mathcal{D}}_{\mathcal{I}}}^{\perp }$ is a closed linear space containing the local algebra. It need not be closed under multiplication. Nor need the globally undetectable space

be an ideal. An operational quotient is not automatically a $C^{\ast }$-algebra quotient.
