Proof. The reset assignments are printed in the supplied source. Since $1<c$, (eq:gain) gives effective gain one. The recurrence $p_{j+1}=\max \{0,p_j-d\}$ gives $p_j=\max \{0,1-jd\}$ by induction.

Each duration branch reinstates $p_0=1$. The maintenance function never calls decay_ms_protection. Each branch subsequently makes the same fifty decay calls.
