The post-maintenance reset

Floating-point subtraction can produce small representation differences from the exact decimals in (eq:protection). Tests should use appropriate numerical tolerances.

The remaining direct protection effects are bias attenuation and inhibitory offsets. Previously learned weights and biases also remain.

During maintenance, $p=1$. The assigned gains $1.25$ and $1.6$ both have effective gain $1.05$; the assigned gain $0.85$ remains $0.85$. This equality of gain caps does not establish equality of the trained states, because their initial parameters, activation, multipliers, and training streams can differ.
