A probability law for a classical record does not specify the selective transformation of the surviving quantum system. Likewise, preservation of one named expectation does not imply recovery of every input. These distinctions are basic to the instrument formulation of quantum measurement DaviesLewis,Choi,Watrous.

This paper places two source contracts in a common supported spacetime presentation:

  1. VII-E's observation boundary, residual separation, spectator condition, and four-face certificate CheungVIIE;

  2. VII-G's finite direct-sum channel, branchwise observation criterion, recovery obstruction, and ordered-slice model CheungVIIG.

Their mathematical statements are reproved below. Citation does not replace a proof, identify two models, or provide missing geometric dynamics.
