Definition: Split type

A distribution on $M^{n}$ is of split type if every wavefront covector satisfies

p_{1} + \dots + p_{n} = 0.

The sum uses the canonical identification of cotangent fibers in Minkowski coordinates. It is not proposed as a coordinate-free definition on arbitrary curved spacetimes.
